Ayodhya (UP), Feb. 13 -- Uttar Pradesh Governor and Chancellor of state universities Anandiben Patel on Thursday said that agri tourism should be promoted in UP.

Addressing the 48th Vice Chancellors' Conference at Acharya Narendra Dev Agriculture and Technology University here, the Governor said that agri tourism should be promoted in UP and education and rural development should also take place through agricultural tourism.

She said Ayodhya is not only a district but a place of devotion for crores of Indians. "Tourists living in cities who do not know about rural life can learn about rural life by participating in the traditions, culture and customs of the villages.
