Kolkata, Sept. 5 -- Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Asansol MLA Agnimitra Paul, was admitted to a private hospital in the city with a minor brain stroke, according to the party sources.

Paul, a first-time MLA from Asansol, fell sick last night and was admitted to the hospital on EM Bypass, where a CT scan report confirmed she had suffered a mild brain stroke. However, she is doing well today.

Sources said the former fashion designer turned politician is currently under medical observation but is out of danger.

The lawmaker will remain in the hospital for a few more days under observation. She is under the care of a neuromedicine expert in a critical care unit.
