Rae Bareli, Oct. 19 -- A gruesome murder shook the quiet village of Murtjanagar on the night of Dhanteras, when an Aghori priest named Mohan Nath Aghori was brutally killed inside his ashram.

The horrific incident has sparked panic and fear across the region, police said today.

The deceased, originally a native of Shahjahanpur district, had been living in the village for the past 20 years, where he had established his own ashram for spiritual practices. His wife, Draupadi Aghori, who hails from West Bengal, also lived with him at the ashram.

According to Draupadi, around midnight yesterday, unidentified assailants entered the ashram and confronted Mohan Nath, leading to a heated altercation that quickly escalated into physical violence. ...
