Chennai, May 8 -- In line with the pattern seen over the years, Girls once again outshone boys in the Plus-2 Board exams conducted by the Tamil Nadu government, results of which were announced on Thursday.

The results were released by the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations a day ahead of the scheduled date of tomorrow.

The state recorded an impressive overall pass percentage of 95.03%.

A total of 7,92,494 students appeared for the exams. Among them, 4,19,316 were girls and 3,73,178 were boys.

Girls outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 96.70%, while boys recorded a pass percentage of 93.16%.

The pass percentage of girls was 3.54 % higher than boys.
