Chennai, May 5 -- Outgoing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M K Stalin has earned a dubious distinction of becoming the third incumbent CM failing to get elected in the Assembly elections after Congress stalwart M Bhaktavatsalam in1967 and AIADMK Supremo J Jayalalithaa in 1996.
Stalin lost from his traditional Kolathur seat by a margin of litte over 9,000 votes to known DMK face and former DMK MLA V S Babu of political newbie Vijay's fledgling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) which had swept the polls with a stunning electoral entry, pushing the two major Dravidian players, the DMK and the AIADMK to the second and third positions.
