Pune, Aug. 8 -- Taking into account the evolving challenges faced by the police force and the changing law and order landscape, the Maharashtra Police Department has been restructured for the first time in 60 years, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced today.

The revamp includes the formation of new police station layouts as well as the establishment of dedicated Narcotics and Forensic Units.Fadnavis announced that the state government will extend full support to modernise the police force further.
