After 23 yrs, Low Pressure Area forms over Bay in Feb, Heavy rain likely in Cauvery, Delta dists on Feb 21, 22

Chennai, Feb. 16 -- For the first time after 2002, a Low Pressure Area has formed over the Bay of Bengalin the month of February which would revive intense rainfall activity in Cauvery Delta and Southern districtson February 21 and 22, prompting the Met office to issue an Yellow Alert for these two days.

The system is likely to move west-northwestwards and become more marked around February 18.

In an update on Monday, Met office said dry weather prevailed over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area.

No large change in minimum temperature over TamilNadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area during the past 24 hrs.
