Chennai, March 21 -- The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) as the project lead along with JAXA and GISTDA provided validated space-based agrometeorological (Agromet) information including extreme events such as flood and drought to support monthly Rice Crop Outlook (RGO) activity in Asia, receiving accolades from the ASEAN Food Security Information System (AFSIS).
An ISRO official received the Appreciation certificate from AFSIS at APRSAF-30 held in Perth, Australia, for successful completion of the project.
The activity carried out under the Space Applications for Environment (SAFE) initiative and conducted during 2020 to 2024.
