Kabul, Sept. 2 -- Construction of a commercial township in northern Afghanistan's Takhar province has officially begun, marking a pivotal step toward enhancing local trade and economic growth, according to a statement from the office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs released late Monday.
During the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar emphasized the importance of investing in service-oriented and productive infrastructure.
He noted that such projects are critical for sustainable development, as they boost production capacity, increase exports, drive industrial growth, create jobs, and enhance national revenue.
