Kabul, April 30 -- The Afghan Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has launched 116 essential development projects worth over 2.8 million U.S. dollars in eastern Afghanistan's Wardak province, the ministry said in a statement late Tuesday.
The projects, which include building bridges, culverts, protective walls, irrigation canals and rural roads, would be implemented in the Jaghato district of the province, the statement indicated.
The projects are expected to provide job opportunities to hundreds of local residents and the living conditions of thousands of people in the district have improved, it said.
