Kabul, March 21 -- The security forces of Afghan caretaker government have killed more than 100 militants affiliated to Daesh or the Islamic State (IS) outfit over the past 12 months, a local media outlet the Tolonews reported Tuesday.



The security forces, according to the private media outlet, have conducted 70 military crackdowns on hideouts of the IS group in Kabul, Balkh, Herat and other parts of Afghanistan.



Although security situation has been tremendously improved since Afghanistan's takeover by Taliban in August 2021, the war-ravaged country has witnessed several terrorist attacks mostly in the shape of suicide bombings.
