Kabul, Dec. 14 -- Personnel of the Afghan national army have taken into custody 398 persons in western Afghanistan's Herat province over the past week for attempting to cross the border and enter neighboring Iran illegally, said an army statement from the western region on Sunday.
All the arrested individuals have been referred to the concerned bodies after preliminary investigations, the statement said without providing more details.
The border security forces would spare no effort to ensure security along the borders, the statement further said.
