New York, July 2 -- As cameras begin rolling on the sequel to the 2006 "The Devil Wears Prada", one familiar face from the original will be notably absent.

Adrian Grenier, who essayed the role of Nate, the often-debated boyfriend of Anne Hathaway's Andy Sachs, will not reprise his role in the follow-up.

Production has kicked off in New York and Italy, with familiar faces including Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci reprising their roles. Oscar-winner Kenneth Branagh joins the cast as Miranda Priestly's husband, further elevating the film's already star-studded lineup, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
