Los Angeles, Jan. 12 -- 'Owen Cooper' made Golden Globes history on Sunday night, becoming the 'youngest-ever' winner of the award for male actor in a supporting role on television. At just 16, the Adolescence star surpassed Chris Colfer, who was 20 when he won for Glee in 2010, confirms Variety.

The win also makes Cooper the second-youngest male Golden Globe winner of all time. The record-holder remains Ricky Schroder, who was 9 when he won new star of the year for The Champ in 1980.

"Standing here at the Golden Globes does not feel real whatsoever," Cooper said during his acceptance speech, drawing laughter from the audience.
