Lucknow, Dec. 22 -- Proceedings of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council witnessed high drama on Monday when Samajwadi Party members staged a walkout over alleged discriminatory treatment of farmers by the state government.
The protest followed a discussion on an adjournment notice moved under Rule 105, highlighting agrarian distress and government apathy.
SP members, including Lal Bihari Yadav, Rajendra Chaudhary, Dr Man Singh Yadav, Mukul Yadav, Ashutosh Sinha, Balram Yadav, Kiran Pal Kashyap, and others, submitted an adjournment notice accusing the government of adopting a step-motherly attitude towards farmers.
