Kolhapur, Aug. 7 -- States Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare instructed the Women Economic Development Corporation to prepare a proposal of an additional Rs 86 lakh for international standard state-of-the-art machinery and technology to make Kolhapuri slippers more attractive, comfortable and modern. Smt Tatkare, who was speaking at a discussion with MAVIM, women entrepreneurs and self-help groups at the circuit House, said "work is underway to start a Kolhapuri chappal unit at Sangrul in Kolhapur district through the administration, and 150 women from 10 villages are participating."
