Mumbai, Dec. 8 -- Celebrated actor and noted environmentalist Sayaji Shinde today met Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray to discuss the opposition to the proposed cutting of 1,800 trees in Tapovan, Nashik, for construction of the Sadhu Gram ahead of the Nashik Kumbh Mela next year.

Speaking to the media after meeting Raj Thackeray, Shinde said, "People who come forward to save trees are our own. We must take everyone along and protect the trees. Trees are our parents that is our belief and it is the truth."He continued, "I like Raj Thackeray a lot as a person. We have met many times earlier. Today we met again in front of the media.
