Bengaluru, Oct. 21 -- Over 80 senior journalists, women's rights activists, and social organizations today submitted a memorandum to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah demanding a re-investigation of unresolved and suspicious cases of sexual assault and murder in the state, including those where witnesses have died under mysterious circumstances, such as the Soujanya, Padmalata, and Yamuna and Narayan cases.
The delegation urged that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the recent brutal crimes in Dharmasthala, Belthangady taluk, Dakshina Kannada, be allowed to function independently, free from any external pressure or interference, to ensure a fair and thorough investigation.
