Mumbai, July 19 -- A Bangladeshi national accused of breaking into actor Saif Ali Khan's home and stabbing him has field a fresh bail plea from jail, claiming that he was falsely implicated in the case and there is no evidence against him.
In his plea, accused Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, 30, also claimed that he is already being charge sheeted and has been languishing in jail for a prolonged period.
In the plea, he pointed out that his arrest was illegal and was in violation of section 47 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), which mandates that a police officer arresting any person without a warrant should communicate full particulars of the offence for which they are being arrested or other grounds for such an arrest.
