Ranchi, Dec. 13 -- Ths Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday caught Arun Kumar Singh, Executive Engineer of the Building Division, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs70,000 in Chaibasa, headquarters of West Singhbhum district. The arrest has sent shockwaves through the department.
According to ACB officials, the engineer was accused of demanding a bribe in lieu of clearing payment or moving forward a file related to a construction work. A formal complaint was lodged with the ACB, and following a preliminary verification that found the allegations to be true, a trap was planned.
