Hyderabad, April 8 -- Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted a surprise check at the office of the Municipal Commissioner, Jagtial Municipality, and detected multiple irregularities in records, tax collections, financial transactions and administrative functioning.
The inspection was carried out by the Karimnagar Range unit on Tuesday at the municipal office in Jagtial district, the ACB said in a release here on Wednesday.
During the verification, officials found significant gaps in collection of municipal revenues for the 2025-26 financial year.
The ACB noted that against a target of Rs 17.19 crore under various tax heads, only Rs 8.95 crore had been collected, leaving a balance of Rs 8.23 crore yet to be realised.
