Jaunpur (UP), Sept. 10 -- An absconding criminal was arrested in an encounter with Jalalpur police, Special Operation Group (SOG) and SWAT team of Jaunpur district here in Uttar Pradesh,a senior police officer said today.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Kaustubh said that Inspector in-charge Jalalpur Gajanan Chaubey along with his team was checking suspicious persons at Trilochan Bazar police booth, during this time SOG in-charge Sub Inspector Praveen Yadav also reached with the team.
"The joint team was tipped off that Akhilesh Yadav alias Neta, who had escaped in a recent police encounter, is going towards the highway via canal road from Kakori-Khalispur and is trying to escape to Varanasi," he said.
