Chennai, April 1 -- Dog days are ahead and people are bracing up for intensie heat wave conditions as the Met office has forecast abvoe normal heat wave in some parts of Northern and /coastal Tamil Nadu and interior regionsand also above normal rainfall in some districts.
In an update on Seasonal outlook for hot weather season (April to June) 2026 and Monthly Outlook for April 2026 for the rainfall and temperature, it said Tamil Nadu is likely to receive normal to above-normal rainfall during April offering some relief from the heat.
However, above normal heat wave days are expected in some parts of Northern and coastal Tamil Nadu, as well as in isolated pockets of interior regions, leading to periods of heat stress.
