Melbourne, Oct. 31 -- Abhishek Sharma today surpassed Virat Kohli's record, emerging as India's top run-scorer in 25 T20I innings with 936 runs, breaking Kohli's previous mark of 906.

The feat came during a fiery knock of 68 off 37 balls at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, where Sharma smashed eight fours and two sixes at a strike rate of 183.78.

He reached his half-century in just 23 balls and shared a crucial 56-run sixth-wicket stand with Harshit Rana, helping India cross the 100-run mark amid a batting collapse that restricted the team to 125 all out.
