Kolkata, Nov. 1 -- : In a sharp political confrontation, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of hypocrisy and double standards following a controversial statement by BJP MP Jagannath Sarkar of Ranaghat, who allegedly suggested that if the BJP came to power, the borders between India and Bangladesh would be abolished.
Banerjee took to his WhatsApp channel to condemn the remarks, calling the BJP's position "hypocrisy that has fallen to new depths."
