New Delhi, March 28 -- Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Saturday alleged that West Bengal is witnessing a "disturbing shift" in its social and administrative environment following recent changes initiated after the announcement of elections, raising concerns over governance and law and order.
In a message shared on his WhatsApp channel, Banerjee criticised what he described as "unprecedented" administrative reshuffles carried out by the Election Commission of India soon after poll dates were declared. He pointed to the replacement of several top officials, including the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, Director General of Police, senior police officers, district magistrates, and the Kolkata Police Commissioner.
