New Delhi, Oct. 3 -- On Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders paid homage at Rajghat and called for the release of Ladakh-based environmentalist and activist Sonam Wangchuk, who is currently in jail on sedition charges.

Led by Delhi state president Saurabh Bharadwaj, the delegation included MLA Sanjeev Jha, AAP leader Adil Khan, and Women's Wing president Sarika Chaudhary. The leaders observed a silent prayer at Gandhi's memorial before addressing the media.

Speaking to reporters, Bharadwaj said it was ironic that political leaders were offering flowers at Gandhi's Samadhi while a Gandhian like Wangchuk was behind bars.
