Chandigarh, Nov. 14 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) registered a decisive victory in the Tarn Taran Assembly bypoll on Friday, with party candidate Harmeet Sandhu winning by a margin of 12,091 votes. Sandhu secured a total of 42,649 votes, marking his fourth election win from the constituency. The Election Commission is expected to issue the formal declaration shortly.

Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa of the Shiromani Akali Dal finished second with 30,558 votes. Mandeep Singh Khalsa, representing Akali Dal Waris Punjab De, backed by MP Amritpal Singh, claimed the third position with 19,420 votes. The Congress candidate ended in fourth place with 15,078 votes, while the BJP nominee garnered 6,239 votes, failing to reach the 10,000 mark.
