New Delhi, Aug. 15 -- The Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) student wing, the Association of Students for Alternative Politics (ASAP), on Friday announced an initiative to financially support deserving candidates contesting the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections.

AAP said that the move aimed to reduce the influence of money and muscle power in student politics.

AAP Delhi chief Saurabh Bharadwaj said the initiative seeks to promote merit-based participation, particularly for students from modest backgrounds who lack resources.
