New Delhi, Dec. 22 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has alleged that there are significant discrepancies in the official dengue case numbers reported for Delhi and has questioned the transparency of public health data.
AAP Delhi state president and former health minister Saurabh Bharadwaj pointed at conflicting figures from two government sources. According to a reply given by the union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in Parliament on December 16, Delhi recorded 3,746 dengue cases this year.
"However, a report released by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on December 13 cited only 1,438 cases for the same period. The parliamentary figure is nearly three times higher than the municipal count," the app has alleged.
