New Delhi, Aug. 7 -- Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief whip Sanjeev Jha on Thursday accused the Delhi government of obstructing elected representatives by requiring MLAs and ministers to seek the Chief Secretary's permission before calling district officials for meetings.
Speaking in the Delhi Assembly during the monsoon session, Jha, the Burari MLA, called the directive "an attack on democracy" and said it has led to officers ignoring legislators' calls. He submitted a privilege notice, urging Speaker Vijender Gupta to intervene and revoke the order, which he claimed undermines the legislature's authority.
"This order affects all MLAs, including ministers. If the executive controls the legislature this way, democracy loses meaning," Jha said...
