New Delhi, Sept. 29 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has thrown its support behind the strike by 5,200 Multi-Tasking Staff and Civic Field Workers of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), accusing the BJP-led civic leadership of neglecting their demands and risking a public health crisis.
Ankush Narang, the Leader of Opposition in the MCD House, met the striking employees today and demanded that the BJP administration immediately accept their long-pending demands.
The workers are striking for equal pay for equal work, medical earned leave, and a job for one family member on compassionate grounds in case of death.
Narang stated that the workers' demands are justified.
