New Delhi, March 2 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday claimed that 43 cows were rescued from an alleged illegal cattle operation running beneath a drain in Chirag Delhi. The party said volunteers involved in the rescue were honoured by its Delhi unit president Saurabh Bharadwaj.
Bharadwaj alleged that cows in areas such as Chirag Delhi, Greater Kailash, Kotla and Malviya Nagar were being abandoned on the streets after being milked. He said the animals were forced to consume garbage and polythene waste.
He claimed this was part of an organised racket in which cows are milked in the morning and evening and left to fend for themselves during the day.
