New Delhi, Jan. 31 -- Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bharadwaj on Friday alleged that the Delhi Jal Board's Late Payment Surcharge (LPSC) waiver scheme was a big failure.
He claimed that it recovered only 8.5 percent of outstanding principal dues.
Bharadwaj, the AAP Delhi State President, made the allegation based on figures he presented, stating that only Rs 430 crore had been recovered against a total principal outstanding of Rs 5,057 crore. He described the scheme, introduced by the current BJP-led city government, as a "monumental failure" and a repackaged version of an older, ineffective plan.
