New Delhi, Aug. 19 -- The principal opposition Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today accused the Delhi government of corruption in a scheme entailing distribution of the national flag.

The Delhi BJP government is yet to issue an official response to these allegations.

The allegations were detailed by AAP MP Sanjay Singh at a press conference at the party headquarters. He claimed that a "Tiranga scam" had been uncovered, involving the distribution of "substandard" flags under the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign.

According to Singh, the Delhi government allocated 4 crore rupees to distribute 7 lakh national flags to households before Independence Day. The tender specified that each flag should be 900 mm by 1350 mm in size and come with a 6-foot pole.
