New Delhi, March 12 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today said that its Dalit councillor Jyoti Gautam and party leader Sanjay Bairwa were allegedly attacked by associates of Umang Bajaj, an MLA of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in the Inderpuri area of Delhi's Rajendra Nagar Assembly constituency.

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh alleged that the incident occurred on Wednesday night when road construction work was underway in the ward represented by councillor Jyoti Gautam. According to him, Sanjay Bairwa, who is the chairperson of the Rajendra Nagar Assembly grievance committee, had gone along with the councillor to inspect the work.
