New Delhi, Sept. 1 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today alleged that the Congress contested the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections with the primary aim of defeating AAP rather than securing victory for itself.

The remarks came after Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav, in an interview, acknowledged that his party focused on ensuring AAP's defeat.

Addressing a press conference, AAP Delhi unit president Saurabh Bharadwaj claimed that Congress had received Rs 46 crore during the election, including Rs 44 crore in cash, without running a strong campaign on the ground. He questioned why Prime Minister Narendra Modi had criticised AAP over a Rs 1 crore cheque donation while remaining silent on Congress's cash receipts.
