Mumbai, Nov. 4 -- Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan is all set to receive the first-ever R.K. Laxman Award for Excellence, an honour created to celebrate the legacy of India's most iconic cartoonist.
Instituted by the family of the late legendary cartoonist R.K. Laxman, the award is tribute to the artist who created the timeless "Common Man" and captured the pulse of Indian society through humour and observation.
The award will be presented to Aamir on November 23 in Pune. The event will also feature a live concert by Oscar-winning A.R. Rahman. The ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. at the MCA Cricket Stadium, where music and memories will combine to honor the legendary cartoonist.
