Aizawl, May 27 -- Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has assured Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma that the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has been directed to formally submit an offer to the Mizoram government for taking over the state-owned Lengpui Airport - the lone airport in the state - with the proposal to be carefully examined by the state authorities.
An official release stated that Lalduhoma called on Naidu in New Delhi, where the two leaders, accompanied by senior AAI officials, discussed the pending takeover as well as the possibility of constructing a new airport in southern Mizoram.
