Etawah, July 15 -- A youth and a girl, said to be having an affair, tried to commit suicide by hanging themselves from a mango tree, in which the youth died, while the girl was saved as
she was timely rescued by the villagers.
The girl was admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
The incident took place in Nagla Bari village of Thana Chaubia area in Etawah.
One Asit Yadav, a resident of Hidpura Thana Chaubia and girl Reshma, resident of Unwa Santoshpur were having a love affair. Due to objections by their family members, the duo reached a deserted place outside their village this morning. Asit first hanged himself with the girl's dupatta, after which Reshma hanged herself with Asit's shirt, but she fell.
