Puri, Sept. 16 -- In a rare and shocking incident at the Puri Swargadwar crematorium, an 86-year-old woman, believed to be dead by her family, was found alive just before her cremation rites and was immediately rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
According to reports, the family of P. Laxmi from Polsara in Ganjam district brought her body to Puri Swargadwar on Monday afternoon for her last rites. However, they could not produce a death certificate, as she had reportedly died at home.
When crematorium manager Brajkishore Sahu inspected the body, he was stunned to find her alive, noticing her eyelids blinking and signs of heart activity.
