Bulandshahr, Aug. 25 -- A major road accident occurred today in the Khurja region of Bulandshahr district, resulting in the death of eight people and injuries to more than 50 others.

The tragic incident took place on National Highway 34 near Ghatala village in the Arnia area, when a speeding container truck rammed into a tractor-trolley carrying devotees.

According to police officials, the tractor-trolley was carrying around 60 devotees from Rafayadpur village in the Soron police station area of Kasganj district. The group was en route to Gogamedi temple in Rajasthan's Hanumangarh district for a religious pilgrimage.
