Hyderabad, Aug. 15 -- Telangana celebrated the 79th Independence Day on Friday with patriotic fervour and grandeur.

The main state-level celebrations were held at the historic Golconda Fort, where Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy hoisted the National Flag and addressed the gathering.

Before heading to Golconda, the Chief Minister unfurled the tricolour at his Jubilee Hills residence and paid tributes at the Army War Memorial in Secunderabad.

Extending greetings to the people, Revanth Reddy said the freedom enjoyed today was the result of sacrifices made by countless great leaders.
