Kabul, May 30 -- A total of 76 couples were married in a mass wedding ceremony in the eastern Afghanistan Wardak province.
Financed by a local charity agency Silab, and held in Wardak provincial capital Maidan Shar city, some of the couples could not afford the marriage expenses due to poverty, although they got engaged six or seven years ago, the local media outlet Tolonews reported Thursday night.
A groom Bakhtiar Maaz lamented that after several years, he was able to arrange his marriage ceremony in a mass wedding supported by Silab relief agency and he felt happy.
