Dergaon (Golaghat), Aug. 12 -- Around 700 recruits of the Goa Police passed out from the Lachit Borphukan Police Academy in Assam's Golaghat district today. Assam Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his counterpart in Goa, Promod Sawant said the move will help strengthen the relation between the two states.
The chief ministers addressed the media after the passing out parade of 700 recruits of Goa Police belonging to 1st, 2nd and 3rd India Reserve Battalions. The recruits, including 569 men and 131 women, successfully completed their 43-week basic training at the prestigious Lachit Borphukan Police Academy (LBPA) at Dergaon in Assam's Golaghat district today.
