Nashik, Oct. 9 -- Seven people sustained burn injuries following a petrol can explosion in the Mahadev Nagar area of Satpur today.

According to the Fire Brigade Department, the incident occurred during a tree-cutting operation being carried out by the Municipal Administration using automatic cutters.

A plastic can containing petrol had been left on the roadside. During the operation, a four-wheeler accidentally struck the can, causing it to crack and spill petrol in the area.

At the same time, a man smoking a bidi under a nearby lemon tree inadvertently ignited the petrol, leading to a sudden explosion. Several bystanders were injured in the blast.
