Agra, Oct. 2 -- A major tragedy struck during Durga idol immersion in Agra's Khairagarh area when seven boys drowned in the Dungarwala Untgawan river today.

The incident occurred around 2:30 pm, creating chaos and panic among locals and family members present at the scene.

According to officials, a large number of people had gathered at the riverbank for the immersion ritual.

While the women stayed near the shore, several young men entered the river to immerse the idol. Suddenly, seven boys were swept away by the river's strong current.
