Bhubaneswar, April 9 -- The Under-14 boys' and girls' competitions of the 69th School Games Federation of India (SGFI) Rugby Championship 2025-26 commenced on Thursday at Kalinga Stadium here.
More than 300 student-athletes from 14 states across the country are participating in the championship in both boys' and girls' categories, marking a significant boost tograssroots-level sports development.
Secretary of the School and Mass Education Department, N. Thirumala Naik, attending the event extended a warm welcome to the young rugby players.
Interacting with the participants, he encouraged them to perform to the best of their abilities and emphasized the importance of maintaining sportsmanship on the field.
