Thane, Sept. 7 -- Deputy Chairperson of the Legislative Council, Dr. Neelam Gorhe, has demanded urgent action following the disappearance of six girls from the Government Observation Home, Special Home for Girls in Ulhasnagar.
Dr. Gorhe submitted a memorandum to the Thane Police Commissioner, urging a thorough investigation and strict action against those responsible.
She highlighted that while three of the missing girls have been traced since the incident on August 27, 2025, three remain unaccounted for. Dr. Gorhe expressed grave concern over the safety of girls in state-run child care institutions, citing similar incidents in the past.
