Xining, Aug. 22 -- A steel cable failure during bridge construction in northwest China's Qinghai Province had left six people dead and 10 others missing as of 12 p.m. Friday, the provincial emergency management authority said.
The cable broke at around 3 a.m. on Friday at the site of a bridge under construction on the Qinghai section of the Sichuan-Qinghai Railway. There were 16 workers on site at the time of the accident, according to a preliminary investigation.
